Apple MacBook Air Battery Recall: What You Need to Know

In a recent development, Apple has issued a recall of certain 15-inch MacBook Pro models due to concerns over battery overheating and fire safety risks. The recall affects laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017, which is roughly 432,000 units in the United States.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has also issued a warning to airlines in the region, advising them to follow 2017 rules requiring devices with recalled lithium-ion batteries to be switched off and not used during flights. The agency reminded airlines of safety instructions for goods with recalled batteries, which means affected Apple laptops should not be taken on flights as cargo or in carry-on baggage by passengers.

Apple has posted a notice on its website, stating that customers can still fly with their laptops once new batteries are installed. Laptops with replaced batteries will not be impacted by the ban.
